Following the reveal of Squadron 42’s cinematic trailer, Cloud Imperium Games have shared more videos and content for Star Citizen.
Front and center is this interview with Gary Oldman.
Oldman’s character is named Admiral Bishop, a brilliant tactician soldier at the level of Patton or Alexander the Great. Oldman spoke at length about how much different Squadron 42 was to his other video game jobs, because he had to do motion capture. Oldman also joked about how he had a hard time saying his own name and kept trimming it to just say Bishop.
Oldman also remarked on getting to work again on Mark Strong. The last time the two worked was on understated espionage thriller Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. They got to do motion capture together for the game.
Oldman also talked about how the CIG staff were awed by his acting when they did the capture. Oldman explained how he had a lot of time and relative leeway to prepare for the role, and the staff got to see what was a pretty humdrum process for actors, which happened to come from Gary Oldman.
Finally, when talking about Star Citizen, Oldman talked about Chris Roberts’ vision. Describing him as a director as demanding as any he’s worked with. He explains Roberts wants to make it an emotional experience, based on a cinematics with personal connections to the characters.
Also revealed by CIG are these videos:
