Best Buy may be your best bet to get a Switch 2, if it turns out that there’s going to be some supply issues at launch.

As shared by Wario64, the retailer has announced that it will be launching Nintendo Switch 2 Summer Gaming Events. On their site, they shared this description:
Nintendo Switch 2 Summer Gaming Events
Starting June 7, 2025.
10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Here is your chance to experience the Nintendo Switch 2 system. Best Buy parking lots will be hosting GameTruck theaters on Saturdays throughout the summer. During these events, participating Best Buy stores may have limited Nintendo Switch 2 inventory for purchase.
Check back throughout the summer to find a Best Buy store near you.
Store events are subject to change without notice; please confirm event with store before attending.
As we know, most US retailers announced that they would have some stock ready to sell Switch 2 units in store, that are separate allocations from stocks meant to fulfill pre-orders.
Nintendo has worked very hard to mass manufacture large quantities of the Switch 2, but they also seem to anticipate that they won’t have enough to meet demand. The company revealed that Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines will get a considerably delayed release sometime between July to September 2025.
On the other hand, some analysts talked about how Nintendo would want to prioritize the market in Japan, and then the US, and perhaps other countries and regions after that. Japan is a particular focus, not only because it’s Nintendo’s home country and they are strong there, but because Nintendo is headquartered there. As opposed to US sales that get deprecated by US-Japan currency exchange rate and market conditions, Nintendo more easily gets profits in Japan than the US.
This has long been a problem for Nintendo, that’s existed before the tariffs. In fact, it’s been an issue for Nintendo since they first entered the US market in the 1980s. Nonetheless, the US is also their biggest market around the world, and it’s one which Nintendo will want to satisfy at launch.
Best Buy is particularly better positioned to help Nintendo in distributing the console in the US and Canada, even more than the likes of GameStop. They have store listings in 39 of 50 US states and territories, including Alaska, Hawaii, and the territory of Puerto Rico. Their rollout of the Summer Gaming Events every Saturday of the month will help sustain interest in the console, and also give hundreds of gamers a fun weekend.
