Destiny Players Will Get Free Silver For Logging On

October 9, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Destiny players will receive free Silver for playing the game.

Bungie will be giving away free Silver, Destiny's new microtransaction currency. The currency is used to purchase aesthetic items from the Eververse Trading Company and Triss Everis, being added next week in the game's upcoming update.

The developer stated in its weekly blogpost that everyone will receive free Silver when microtransactions are added to the game on October 13. Players who log on between now and December will get even more silver, so be sure to play regularly.

When the Eververse Trading Company is added, players will be able to purchase over a dozen emotes for use on their characters. Bungie has yet to reveal what else they plan to sell on the store, but there's a good chance it'll include shaders and other vanity items that have yet to have their own slot in the interface.

The studio has not yet announced the pricing details for Silver, but the information should come as soon as the update drops.

The same update detailed how shotguns will be getting nerfed for PVP balance.
