Rise of The Tomb Raider distinguishes itself from its predecessor with more layers of gameplay systems to unravel. There’s so much to explore, find, collect, craft, and discover, that you will find yourself constantly moving, instantly making decisions and striking enemies down along the way.
The full context of this mission isn’t clear, but you seem to have found allies in Siberia, who have tasked you with breaking down the communications network of the cult you’re tracking down. Along the way, you can find items, secure paths, etc.
I think the most salient aspect of the gameplay is how the different options laid out in front of you make it feel like there is a flowchart of actions you can take. Not a Grand Theft Auto open world which gives you full freedom to play hookey, nor more traditionally laid out 3D levels. Thanks to your survival and free running abilities, you can constantly find different paths, with actions laid out and rewards to find.
Rise of The Tomb Raider will be released for Xbox 360 and Xbox One in November 2015, Microsoft Windows in early 2016, and for PlayStation 4 in late 2016.
