According to a VFX artist, She-Hulk was set to be bigger in the Disney+ series, but due to executive meddling to constantly "Make her smaller", the final design is what it is

The other day, the internet was very much talking about She-Hulk, one of the upcoming Marvel series to debut on Disney+ this year (the other new one coming out is Marvel, which also got a trailer this week). But the thing is that while many were intrigued by the new series and how it came off tone-wise (we’ll let you decide if you like it or not), more people were talking about the looks of Jennifer Walters in her “green form”, and the talk wasn’t exactly…positive.
Mainly, the trailer seemed to have a CGI problem in that She-Hulk looked very ‘uncanny valley’ and just didn’t seem to fit in the world around her (not unlike pulling out a video game character and trying to splice them in the real world). Many do feel that Marvel will get that fixed by the time the show premieres in August, but another question may have already been answered.
You see, many noted that while Jennifer’s transformation does “loom large” as she’s stated to be 6’7 in that form in the show, she’s not as muscular as many felt she was going to be. Remember, she is a Hulk, and is thus a powerhouse for days.
VFX artist Sean Ruecroft went to Twitter (in a now deleted tweet, hence the one above) and talked about what went into the She-Hulk design, and they said that the execs at Marvel Studios kept telling them to ‘make her smaller’ in terms of her muscle mass.
Granted, as you can see in the trailer, she still has muscles and strength, but it’s not as overt as many feel it should be for a character who is KNOWN for being very muscular.
Many are mad about this because of a terrible stigma that’s been permeating the internet as of late that “muscular women aren’t beautiful), even though that’s a total lie. She-Hulk could’ve been an example of that and yet…it seems they went for a more “sleek and beautiful” look, which is kind of not the point of the character.
The series debuts in August.
