Good is not a thing you are, it’s a thing you do.

The next Marvel series to come to Disney+ is almost here, as Ms. Marvel is just three weeks away from its debut on the service. As a result of that, they’ve been dropping featurettes about it, and then today, they dropped a new mini-travel that focuses on Kamala Khan and her rise to being a hero.
As we see in the trailer, Kamala is trying to understand not just her powers, but what Captain Marvel went through to try and “convince people that she’s good”, a question that very much is in line with the comics where Kamala tries to be not just as good as Carol Danvers, but then surpass her in certain ways.
Throughout the trailer we see her doing all sorts of unique things with her powers, and even the origin moment of her getting the bracelet that gives her the “cosmic” powers she’ll be using. Add to that, we get a lot of fun moments with her various looks and costumes. Including an ending scene that we’d honestly love to see in live-action just for the hilarity of it all.
There are still a lot of questions about Ms. Marvel though, including the bad guys she’s facing (we only get glimpses of them here) and how the series is going to setup her meeting Captain Marvel for The Marvels movie that’ll arrive next year. But more than likely we’re going to get more looks at the show before it debuts on June 8th.
Kamala’s arrival is one of at least three “new heroes” dropping this year on Disney+. Moon Knight had his time in the…uh…moonlight, and She-Hulk is coming soon enough. Hopefully if this show goes well, we’ll get to see her start searching for members of her own supergroup.
Do we have any Champions fans out there?
