Epic Games Launches New Web Series Exploring Virtual Reality

September 21, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

The first episode in the web series explains what virtual reality is all about.

Epic Games, the developer of the powerful Unreal Engine and the Gears of War series of games has released the first video in their new virtual reality documentary series, A Sense of Presence. The first episode is titled “What is Virtual Reality?”

The video features interviews with Epic Games CTO Kim Libreri, Oculus CEO Palmer Luckey, and other VR creators. Luckey is responsible for the development of the Oculus Rift—you might have heard of it.

Beyond the interviews, the video introduces viewers to the concept of virtual reality and explores how the new technology could impact the game industry.

The studio is also planning to release a second episode, called “A Sense of Presence: Building Virtual Reality,” which takes a deeper look into the creation of VR experiences.
