In perhaps one of the more unusual news twists of the day, Behaviour Interactive has released an announcement trailer for a brand new Dead By Daylight dating sim. Hooked On You: A Dead By Daylight Dating Sim will be released later this summer on Steam and will encourage people to romance their favourite psychotic killer on the beachy paradise shores of Murderer’s Island.
The game, which looks to be an interactive visual novel, will allow players to flirt their way to true love, bitter loathing or die trying with four different Dead By Daylight Killers. It’ll be down to players to try and uncover the softer sides (if they want to) of The Trapper, The Huntress, The Wraith and The Spirit, in order to make it to one of the dating sim’s multiple endings for each character.
For more of a feel for this incredibly weird-sounding but also pretty compelling game, you can check out the announcement trailer in full right here.
Needless to say, reactions in the Dead By Daylight community have been made up of both hilarity and hype, with one user on Reddit calling the game “probably one of the smartest business decisions I’ve ever seen.” In general, the feedback over on YouTube has been overwhelmingly positive, so it seems as though putting a romantic twist on deadly murderers might be a concept that kind of works? We’ll have to see when the game comes to Steam in the summer.
Elsewhere in the main game, Dead By Daylight just got a whole load of new updates. This includes a gameplay overhaul that addresses issues around META Perks, which you can check out in full over on the official blog. This comes as part of the game’s 6th anniversary rolls around, and the developers have made a number of quality of life improvements to the game, as well as other fixes.
We’ll be keeping an ear to the ground for further news on a potential release date for Hooked On You before its release in the summertime.
