In preparation for the launch of Destiny: The Taken King next week, in partnership with 72andSunny and Digital Domain, Activision and Bungie released a live-action trailer.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion, Tron: Legacy), the trailer depicts three members of a Destiny fireteam about to take on Oryx, father of Crota, who was killed in Destiny’s first expansion, The Dark Below. It’s set to Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog” and will be shown during the New England Patriots/Pittsburgh Steelers NFL game tonight, Sept. 10.
Destiny: The Taken King will be available on Sept. 15 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, however, The Taken King’s new raid, King’s Fall, will not be available until Sept. 18, presumably so that players will not feel compelled to rush through all of the new content that leads up to the raid. Be sure to check out all of the new armor shaders available with patch 2.0, as well as what sort of challenge players can expect from King’s Fall in comparison to other Destiny raids.
What do you think of the new live-action trailer for Destiny: The Taken King? Does it capture the feel of Destiny for you? Just five more days…
