Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Bug Stops You From Playing With Quiet

September 9, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

If you did like playing with Quiet as a partner, unfortunately, the game won’t let you do that right now.

Konami has revealed there is an outstanding bug affecting Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

The bug appears if you bring Quiet along for either Mission 29 or Mission 42. Unfortunately, what happens is the game stops progressing if you do so. For now, there is no fix, but you can avoid the bug from appearing entirely simply by not bringing Quiet along to those missions for now. If you did like playing with Quiet as a partner, unfortunately, you won’t be able to play with her all the way through for the moment.

If rumors are true that Kojima’s studios have been quietly shuttered, it’s not clear who will be dealing with the bug, or how long a patch fix would be appearing.  Worse, the bug affects the game irregardless of what platform you had chosen, so this may be an issue fundamental to the game’s code.

Are you affected by this bug since you have been playing a lot with Quiet? What do you think Konami should do if the original studios making the game have been dissolved? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
