There's a new Monster Hunter game coming to the Nintendo 3DS. It's a huge departure from previous titles in the series, featuring cartoonish art direction and a completely different battle system than what fans are used to.
Monster Hunter Stories, originally teased in April, now has an official Japanese website.
While most titles in the series are geared towards hardcore players, the upcoming title will cater to a more casual audience.
According to Gematsu, which translated much of the official website to trawl it for information, the upcoming game will feature a turn-based combat system. The translation states that "monsters have habits so if you pay attention and read their movements, you can tell what will be advantageous in battle."
Players will also be able to summon companion monsters to assist them in battle.
It's due for release in 2016 in Japan. There's still no word on whether the game will ever make it to the West, but here's hoping the publisher doesn't forget about the series' international audience.
