An indie studio called Rogue Rocket Games has just announced First Wonder. It's described as a spiritual successor to MDK and Giants: Citizen Kabuto, two titles that were developed by Shiny Entertainment and Planet Moon Studios, respectively. They were pretty big games back in the late '90s, and fans of Interplay titles will be well-versed with them.
According to the press release, Rogue Rocket Games is lead by Nick Bruty, who lead the art design for MDK. He also oversaw the design and release of Giants: Citizen Kabuto.
First Wonder is set to blend third-person shooter elements with aerial acrobatics in an open world environment that players can explore. Like its spiritual predecessors, First Wonder set to be filled with humor and memorable characters while trapped on an island resort on the alien planet of Majorca who must take on a giant. Players will alternatively assume the roles of the giant Monstro and the team of Cargonauts trying to stop him from rampaging throughout the island.
The first demo of First Wonder will be available at PAX Prime. Just as well, the studio plans to announce a crowdfunding campaign to support a multi-platform game later this year.
