Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns’ Warrior Elite Specialization Unveiled

August 20, 2015 by Stephen Daly

It’s kinda berserk.

ArenaNet has revealed the warrior profession's elite specilization for Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns, the berserker.

The specilization allows warriors to light up with a torch and introduces 'berserk mode', which lets players use their character's "primal bloodlust" to deploy a whole new skill set. In berserk mode, the standard multi-tiered adrenaline bar is replaced with a single bar which offers shorter cooldowns for skills.

One skill the berserker can use is 'Flames of War', which allows them to set themselves on fire, remove conditions, and create a field of flame to burn enemies before it explodes. 'Blaze Breaker', meanwhile, lets berserkers slam their torches into the ground to create a stream of rock and fire to send crashing into the enemy, burning and crippling foes along the way. These moves grant bonus adrenaline when they're utilised in combat.

Additional details on the berserker will be revealed on an ArenaNet Twitch stream this Friday, August 21st, at 12:00 PDT.

You can find out more about the berserker specialization with game designer Robert Gee on the Guild Wars 2 website in the meantime. Tempest has already been revealed as the elementalist elite specialization for the expansion.
