Zombi, a port of the 2012 Wii U-exclusive ZombiU, is now available on digital storefronts on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, developer Ubisoft announced today.
Zombi is very much the same game as ZombiU, but with upgraded visuals, new weapons, and more. Players are still tasked with surviving the zombie apocalypse in London, England, but improvements have been made to lighting, load times and more.
As in ZombiU, when a player dies, they switch to a new, nameless survivor and are always given the opportunity to hunt down their previous self, who is now a zombie, in order to get all of their supplies back. If they chose to forgo that trip, they will begin their character from scratch, attempting to resupply themselves in the fight for their life all over again.
Another mechanic used to increase tension in Zombi is that there is no pause function, meaning there is no opportunity to rest or otherwise take a break from the game (save for quitting the game). Even when a player is rifling through their backpack, they are in danger.
Zombi was announced in July and can be purchased on the PlayStation Store for PS4, the Xbox Live Marketplace for Xbox One, and Steam for PC for $20.
