PlatinumGames has confirmed that Transformers Devastation will be 60FPS across all platforms.
Now, to be clear, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will see dips from that framerate, but the other PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will be more stable. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will also output in 720p, and the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions in 1080p.
As for PC gamers, there will be much more flexibility, more or less based on what your rig is capable of. No more details for now, but it should be interesting to see if PlatinumGames decides to make Transformers Devastation their first 4K game, and for that matter, if they will be exceedingly lenient on minimum requirements.
Transformers Devastation seems to be more about style and substance than pushing performance benchmarks, but it is at least encouraging to know that PlatinumGames is challenging themselves in this regard. To put this in context, many of 8th generation consoles’ most visually impressive games, including The Witcher 3, Bloodborne, Batman Arkham Knight, and Ryse Son Of Rome, output only at 30 FPS. The choice to go for 30 FPS does not seem to be a matter of developer skill, as much as it is a case of scope and keeping development time and effort reasonable.
Transformers Devastation will be released on September 2015 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
