PlayStation Experience 2015, PlayStation’s now-annual convention dedicated to all things PlayStation, will be held in San Francisco, the company announced today on the PlayStation Blog.
The first iteration of the event was held last year in Las Vegas. What spurred the change of venues was not made clear by PlayStation, but it is a well-known fact in the video game industry that many who work in it are already in San Francisco.
In any case, fans of the big, blue brand can secure their tickets at a special early-bird rate of $60 for both days (Dec. 5-6) if they order before Sept. 20, while supplies last. After Sept. 20, two-day passes will go up to $75. Saturday-only passes will run you $45 and Sunday-only passes will cost $40. Tickets can be purchased here and PlayStation “strongly recommends” using your PSN ID, which you still can’t change (come on, Shuhei), when ordering. Let’s hope you can be proud of your PSN ID when they inevitably print it on your badge for all to see (I’m looking at you “buttfulloflube”).
PlayStation will also be offering discounted rates on hotels for those attending the event and fans of Street Fighter will be happy to know the Capcom Cup will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015 at PlayStation Experience. The winner of the tournament will earned the title “Street Fighter World Champion” and a shot at a $250,000 prize pool.
Last year’s PlayStation Experience brought us a 15-minute gameplay demo of Uncharted 4, but also the announcement of Final Fantasy 7 coming to PlayStation 4, just not in the way that people had hoped. Luckily that changed at E3 2015. What are you hoping to see at PlayStation Experience 2015?
