EA has revealed new details about Star Wars Battlefront, specifically about the game's Supremacy mode. In Supremacy, two teams of players must battle to control points across some of the game's largest maps, replete with vehicles, and hero/villain units.
At the beginning of every Supremacy match, both the Rebel Alliance and the Imperials own a pair of control points and must fight to control a neutral point in the middle. The goal is to ultimately capture all five points or hold the majority of them after the ten minutes have passed.
Unlike the Conquest mode in the Battlefield series, the points have to be captured sequentially. In Supremacy, only two points are active at any given time, so you won't be able to sneak behind enemy lines to capture any points. All battles will be held on a front.
Players can expect to use all of the vehicles available on the map, including Tie Fighters and X-Wings. They can also play as hero and villian characters like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader.
Supremacy takes place on the largest maps that the game has to offer, but players shouldn't have to worry about running from their base to the front line as they'll be able to respawn close to the action. The game's developers say that they don't want players to feel left out from the fight, and that by keeping the action centralized, "players not playing the objective and camping on a hill somewhere will be a rare sight."
That was always a big problem in Battlefield's Conquest mode.
Star Wars Battlefront comes out on November 17 for the PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Elsewhere, EA's Peter Moore talked about the game's lack of a single-player campaign.
