WWE 2K16: Two More Inactive Wrestlers Possibly Joining Playable Roster

July 16, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

2K Sports promised the largest roster the franchise has seen, so no wrestler can’t be ruled out. At least, no one who isn’t under contract anywhere else.

Following the news about Eva Marie, we have two new surprising reveals of wrestlers for WWE 2K16. This time, we are looking at veteran wrestlers, but those who are not on the active roster.

First off, Natalya revealed that her father, Jim Neidhart, is slated to be added to the roster. This will serve to be a comeback for the former tag team champion, who apparently has been dealing with personal problems off the spotlight. Natalya was in Total Divas talking about her father, and she alluded to Jim recently leaving a facility, presumably for alcoholism.

While Jim never became World champion, he is tied inextricably to the history of one Hitman, The Excellence of Execution, Bret Hart. Everyone also loves a comeback story, so while Jim reappears on TV, either in Total Divas or one of the wrestling programs, it will generate interest to playing him in WWE 2K16.

The other rumored wrestler is not quite confirmed, but it would be quite something if he was. The infamous Boogeyman, real name Marty Wright, picked up notoriety participating in reality show Tough Enough. His radical reinvention into the Boogeyman, however, made him synonymous with his gimmick completely. Boogeyman’s gimmick is a throwback to 80s wrestling gimmicks from the Rock’N’Wrestling era, a supernatural wrestler with racist undertones, who literally brought worms into the ring. While also never a World Champion like Jim, Boogeyman is certainly one of the most memorable.

Boogeyman simply posted a picture of himself with the WWE logo. He had worked with the company as recently as March, so it’s possible he’s already in the roster, but there is no official confirmation yet.

Do you think these are unlikely entrants to the game? 2K Sports promised the largest roster the franchise has ever seen, so no wrestler (at least who isn’t signed anywhere else) is can’t be ruled out.

WWE 2K16 will be released on October 27, 2015 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
