Dragon Quest 8 may not have 3D on 3DS, but that does not mean the game will be lacking in new features. In fact, Square Enix just revealed it will have a new mode, simply named Camera Mode.
In camera mode, you can take pictures from within the game and save it to your SD card. Aside from taking simple screenshots, you can pose your characters to take special commemorative photographs, and save those pics to the card.
On top of this, there will be a Photographic Fort that will give you photograph related sidequests. Yes, you can relive those Pokemon Snap dreams and take photos of the game’s rarest monsters, as well as hidden items, as side quests.

Dragon Quest 8 will be released to the West, based on the word of the series’ creator, Yuji Horii. No official release dates have been announced.
