Two years after Notch himself stated that Minecraft would make sense on Wii U, Mojang may finally be ready to bring the game to Nintendo consoles.
I agree a Wii U version would make sense, btw. The only reason for no current plans is we've got too much work already. I <3 Nintendo.

Mojang COO Vu Bui spoke frankly about Minecraft’s future, and Bui is forthright about wanting Minecraft to be on everything. With that in mind, he is seeking out new platforms to accommodate everyone using something different.
Here’s his exact words on bringing it to Nintendo platforms:
I’ve never heard a reason why we haven’t ended up on Wii U or 3DS. It just hasn’t happened yet.
Notch’s sale of Minecraft and its developer Mojang seemed like the death knell for the game appearing on other platforms, but Bui says they are happy with their new owners, and in fact it is thanks to Microsoft that they are able to expand. Bui also spoke optimistically about bringing Minecraft over to the educational sector, and they have potentially no limit in expanding in this field.
In fact, it was easy to forget but even from the start Notch explained that Minecraft was going to stay multiplatform. In the past year, we saw that this meant continuing support for current platforms, namely, Windows, Mac, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, iOS, Android, OS X, and even open source OSes.
On Nintendo’s end, it may have seemed like they were ambivalent to even seeking out Mojang, but it turns out they admired the game as well. NCL President Satoru Iwata even said that Minecraft was a game that Nintendo could learn from.
Of course, it's also likely that Bui isn't so much concerned about handpicking platforms as much as he's looking at the rising number of clones and copycats, some of which are already in development for Wii U.
So, we have no confirmation right now thatMinecraft is coming to Wii U, or 3DS for that matter. However, if it seemed impossible before, it’s certainly more than likely now.
