Motion Twin have rolled out a beta build for Update 28 of Dead Cells, after last week starting an Alpha Build for The Bank.
The changes are being done to address balance, buff new enemies and fix perks. For example, Evil Guillain now has heavier damage and can spawn in a biome after The Bank. Big Gold Gorger has been nerfed as once it ate all your gold and grew to a large size it did an insane amount of damage.
The vampirism buff has been doubled on heavy weapons, fixed war spear damage while changing the classifications and fixed gold plating to break flawlessness on bosses.
In a statement on Steam, Motion Twin said that:
“The Bank has had a little polish, so we’re here again with a new beta to check that we didn’t break anything on the way. The changes for the beta are mainly balancing and bug fixing, but we’ve also added a load of SFX/music and lore room text, so the biome should feel closer to the real deal.”
In addition to what we’ve already mentioned, the update has fixed a series of bug issues and glitches that broke the immersion of the game. Dead Cells is already an incredibly fun game, meshing together elements of both a Metroidvania game and a roguelike game while still maintaining an identity of its own. You’ll find yourself fighting through the world over and over again just to try and reach the end, especially given the absolutely massive difficulty that the game maintains throughout.
