World of Warcraft’s next major patch for the game, Patch 6.2 – Fury of Hellfire, will be live Tuesday, June 23, Blizzard announced on their website today.
The patch will bring forth a new zone, Tanaan Jungle, which can be accessed by players building a shipyard in their personal garrison; a new raid called Hellfire Citadel in which players will face off against new bosses, including some familiar figures from World of Warcraft lore, such as Mannoroth and Archimonde; and more.
A new feature called “Timewalking” will allow players to play through old five-man dungeons from The Burning Crusade and The Wrath of the Lich King expansion packs during designated weekend events. Characters level 71 and higher will be able to access dungeons from The Burning Crusade, and 81 or higher for The Wrath of the Lich King dungeons. Timewalking will scale a character’s stats down to a level appropriate for the content, but will provide rewards in the form of loot that is scaled up to a character’s actual level.
World of Warcraft’s latest expansion pack, Warlords of Draenor, was released last year. It has brought players back in time to a zone that is familiar, yet different, to players of The Burning Crusade, WoW’s first expansion pack, called Draenor. The new zone in patch 6.2, Tanaan Jungle, has previously been inaccessible, save for an instanced tutorial scenario upon reaching Draenor.
