Popcap seems to be hiring for the imminent sequel to Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare.
EA already confirmed plans for a sequel to release in 2016, although they did not provide much details. They did describe it as a "bigger and bolder new console experience", and that it would also be coming to PC.
The open calls are for an interface designer, to build an entirely new UI for the game, and a designer/scripter who will be tasked to work particularly on creating engagine mission experiences.
EA has yet to confirme sales figures for Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare. An unverified account estimates sales to be around 2 million units. What we do know is that the months since the game’s release, all of Popcap continued to struggle to match expectations. Popcap continued to see layoffs a year after Garden Warfare’s release, culminating with the exit of remaining cofounder John Vechey.
Perhaps focusing on making another shooter plays more to the strengths of Popcap’s owner, Electronic Arts, as the publisher itself has continued to find mixed success and seeks to recover that lost ground in the mobile space.
