Titanfall is a highly popular game, and it wasn’t long after the first installment that we received a sequel. Fortunately, the sequel came with a solo campaign, allowing more players to pick up the title. There wasn’t a push to just enjoy an online competitive shooter experience with the sequel as with the first installment. That move proved not only to be a winner for fans that wanted some narrative campaign to enjoy but the reason for a new popular mod to come out.
There is a constant barrage of attacks and cheaters with an online-focused game to be mindful of. As a result, this proved to be the case for Titanfall 2. Fortunately, a new mod called Northstar has come out that allows players to create their own server. This private server should allow for some online competitive gameplay matches without any outside forces spoiling the fun for everyone. Of course, since this is a private server situation, you might find this worth dabbling into if you enjoy going through the game with friends.
The mod was made possible because of the campaign being attached to the game as well. Essentially, the campaign provided everything the modders needed to craft up Northstar. That means those of you hopeful a similar setup will come out for the original installment for Titanfall will be out of luck. But, of course, because this mod exists, it might mean that there is a bigger chance that this game will actually last quite a bit longer after the official servers come to their eventual end.
Apparently, this mod will also allow players to make custom content as well. This should bring out some new thrilling gameplay experiences. But, for now, this is the current installment for the franchise. Although, Respawn Entertainment will likely venture back to the IP soon to deliver the third installment.
