PlayStation 5 Loses Against Xbox Series S During Black Friday

November 29, 2021 by Dennis Patrick

Xbox Series S was the biggest console hit during the holiday shopping spree.

We’re hopeful those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving had a wonderful time. While Thursday is made for cooking and eating some traditional meals with family, it’s just the calm before the storm. Friday is when the madness begins as everyone prepares for the Black Friday rush. Years ago, it was an event where consumers lined up at stores before they opened and made a mad dash inside when the doors unlocked. With countless deals and promotions, it’s an excellent opportunity to get some material goods.

Whether you’re just trying to treat yourself or after some gifts for the holiday season, Black Friday is a great way to save some money. Naturally, for gamers, it’s all about the latest deals for video games. You might be after some new video game titles, peripherals, to even consoles. As I’m sure you’re aware, the latest consoles are tough to come by, but some retailers made an effort to have stock during Black Friday. Although, it might surprise you to see just what console came out on top.

As reported by Business Insider, data has come out that suggests the best-selling console during Black Friday was the Xbox Series S. That beats out its more powerful brother, the Xbox Series X, along with the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch competitors. It’s a solid console, and perhaps it was a console more easily accessible to the consumers searching for a new platform to pick up. Despite not being as powerful, the Xbox Series S is no slouch.

This is a console platform that can play Xbox Series X games, and it comes at $100 cheaper. Then if you add in the fact that there’s Xbox Game Pass, you’ll have opened up a massive catalog of video games. Included in that mix is the ability to stream some of these games as well. That might have been a big factor when it came to picking up a new console as well since they’ll easily have access to games right away rather than streaming.
