Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines has gained quite the cult following. This title was first released in 2004, and while the game hasn’t received a proper sequel yet, it’s something that’s actually in the works. The upcoming title is Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2, which has been in development for several years now. Unfortunately, the game development process has not been smooth.
Development studio Hardsuit Labs was crafting this game up. However, we’ve seen notable staff leave the project and delays in the past couple of years. Eventually, the game was taken away from Hardsuit Labs altogether. Most fans might have assumed that would be the end of the game. Although, it looked like Paradox Interactive wanted to keep this IP going. As a result, we’ve seen the company give the IP to another studio. Unfortunately, we don’t know what studio that is. Instead, the game is in development by a notable team.
The video game exchanged hands with this studio in which the process made so far has kept Paradox Interactive happy. Recently, Paradox Interactive held a Q3 interim report which had a Q&A after. During this portion, Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 came up in which the CEO, Fredrik Wester, was able to provide a statement. Wester confirmed that the game is in a reputable studio and is happy with the progress made so far.
Unfortunately, there’s no update on a release date for this game. The release date information might not come out for a long time. As for the development studio handling this IP, Paradox Interactive is keeping that a secret. Instead of alerting fans of the game developer working on the project, they want the studio to focus on the game entirely. As a result, there’s a good chance the studio might end up getting a flood of questions about the project right now. At least that’s the way Paradox Interactive sees it.
