New World Players Are Finding Devs Are Too Lenient With Their Bans

Nov 10, 2021 Dennis Patrick

Players are voicing their opinions on day bans for those duplicating.

Amazon’s latest big video game release is New World. Developed as an MMORPG, players have been enjoying this game. The popularity was so high that the company had to add more servers to enjoy the game at launch. However, now the game has a significant economic problem that players are dealing with. With the limit of gold available, it’s left some players uncovering just how to acquire more gold and items. Unfortunately, the process many players are going with is an exploit.

There have been exploits found in which players can duplicate an item. These can be powerful items to gold. Overall, it’s an easy process, and plenty of players have been going through the game with ease. Unfortunately, that has left players who are actively playing the game as intended very upset. It’s been reported that those caught duplicating are given out a ban. However, it’s not a ban that would deter players from continuing their duplicating exploits later on.

Those banned from being caught duplicating are only given a day ban. That means players cannot play the game for one day, which is not that big of a deal. However, the items duplicated remain with the player. That means the content received is not taken away, which is not much of a punishment. Instead, players can start duplicating once again, knowing they’ll keep whatever they duplicate and won’t have more than a day off the game.

Players are venting their frustration online through open forums like Reddit. However, there don’t appear to be any changes coming out to the ban process. For now, it seems pointless for some players to spend countless hours grinding away for a particular gear piece knowing that another player doesn’t have to work for the item. So, for now, it’s a waiting game to see if the developers hear the player’s plea to start making harsher punishments to end the duplicating exploit.
