Jump Force Is Getting Killed Off Next Year

November 10, 2021 by Dennis Patrick

Bandai Namco will be delisting the game.

There are plenty of fighting games available that feature crossover franchises. Some do incredibly well and are sought after today. Others have a smaller following which is the case for Jump Force. The game sounded great on paper, but the developers failed to capture much of an audience. Regardless, those still enjoying the game will find that the developers will be delisting the title from digital storefronts this coming year.

Again, much like other games that have licensing agreements, eventually, expiration dates will arrive, and it can cause the removal of these games from online. Jump Force brought out several Shonen Jump franchises together for an epic battle. Players had characters popping up from all kinds of different series. For instance, you had characters from Dragon Ball, Bleach, My Hero Academia, Naruto, One Piece, Yu Yu Hakusho, Yu-Gi-Oh, among several other IPs.

Online servers will go down on 8/24/2022 but all single-player functions will be playable locally.

Thank you all once again for your support. We look forward to seeing you enjoy our other games.

While the reception was a bit lackluster, those who enjoyed the game will need to get the most out of it. Bandai Namco Entertainment has tweeted out that the game will be delisted on February 7, 2022. While you won’t purchase the game or additional content, it’s not the end date for online multiplayer. Players will still be able to enjoy the game online for a few more months. The servers will remain online until August 24, 2022.

Although online multiplayer might come to an end, you can still enjoy the single-player functions and local multiplayer. It should be interesting to see if another attempt at a Jump Force game will finetune the experience for players. With that said, this might be an IP shelved for good. Regardless, if you want to secure a digital copy of this game, then you might want to pick it up before the delisting date.
