Battlefield 4 has been out for well over a year now, and in spite of this fact, the game’s developers at DICE continue to produce new content for the game. Moving forward, all of the content developed for Battlefield 4 will be free for both Premium and non-Premium players of the game.
Players of Battlefield 4 have been asking the studio as to whether the content they’re developing for the game will be free, to which the studio confirmed that, yes, all future content developed for the game will be available free of charge for all players regardless of Premium status.
DICE’s David Sirland confirmed that the new content will include both the new maps, and the upcoming Gunmaster game mode and an assortment of weapons currently in development for the title in the Spring patch.
The Spring patch is set to include the Gunmaster game mode and four new weapons, including the following guns:
- AN-94 assault rifle
- Groza-1 assault rifle
- Groza-2 assault rifle
- L86A1 assault rifle
Just as well, the Night Maps update will include nighttime versions of several maps already in the game, including Siege of Shanghai, Zavod 311, and Golmud Railway. These too will be absolutely free.
Finally, in the Summer, DICE intends to release an all new community-developed map. That’s also free.
