Halo Infinite Latest Marketing Video Tells A Canon Emotional Story

November 2, 2021 by Dennis Patrick

A look at how the UNSC managed to gain energy shield technology.

Halo games have a ton of unexplored lore still to dive into. When each new game comes out, there are some thrilling marketing videos to hype up the launch. We’ve seen quite a few based around the UNSC rather than strictly based around the main protagonists. That trend is still holding strong with Halo Infinite’s latest video upload. Today, players can get more insight into how the UNSC managed to gain some vital alien technology.

The latest video trailer, which you can watch in the media player embedded above, is the Unspoken. This is a UNSC archive of a soldier that have lost their ability to speak. In the video, the soldier is sending off a video message to a fallen soldier’s parents. However, it was also a video highlighting how the UNSC managed to gain the alien energy shield technology. The fallen soldier acquired alien shields from Jackals as they defended passengers from an enemy boarding assault.

While this heroic act cost the soldier his life, the technology proved a significant turning point for the UNSC. This is the same technology that you will find in Master Chief’s defense system. This emotional video is under four minutes long. However, having small marketing materials like this helps flesh out some of the lore and characters that might not appear in the video game campaign. Hopefully, we get even more marketing videos like this as we approach the release date for Halo Infinite.

Currently, Halo Infinite is set to launch on December 8, 2021. There are expectations that an early access digital bundle will come out for the game. For now, we know that Microsoft will be holding a streaming event later this month which will likely hold more information for this IP. Meanwhile, even if you’re not interested in the campaign, the multiplayer component has already been confirmed to be free to play.
