Project Cars PC Minimum & Recommended Specs Confirmed, Plus Resolution

April 15, 2015 by Stephen Daly

Resolution up to 12K on PC, 1080p on PS4, 900 on Xbox One.

With Project Cars coming close to its launch in May, the game's technical details have been confirmed by developer Slightly Mad Studios.

Here are the game's minimum and recommened specs for PC players:

Minimum spec:

  • CPU: 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400, 3.0 GHz AMD Phenom II X4 940
  • Graphics: nVidia GTX 260, ATI Radeon HD 5770
  • Memory: 4Gb RAM, 1Gb VRAM

Recommended spec:

  • CPU: 3.5 GHz Intel Core i7 3700, 4.0 GHz AMD FX-8350
  • Graphics: nVidia GT600 series, AMD Radeon HD7000 series
  • Memory: 8Gb RAM, 2Gb VRAM

The PC version supports 12K resolution and as you'd expect, the resolution will vary depending on your rig's specs. Console players will see a difference, the PlayStation 4 version runs at 1080p and 60 frames per second. On Xbox One, the game's resolution is 900p and 60 frames per second.

Due to technical limitations, there will be no PS3 or Xbox 360 version of Project Cars, but more information on the Wii U version, including resolution, "will be released in an upcoming featured article," the developer said.

Up to 45 offline opponents can be involved depending on the grid size of the tracks across all platforms; while 16 online players are supported on PS4 and Xbox One. The game also supports 32 online players on PC. However, there will be no split-screen mode "in order to achieve the target of 60 frames per second".

More details, including technical console specific details, can be found on Slighty Mad's website. Project Cars will be released in mid-May.
