Bloodborne has been a massive success for both developer From Software and publisher Sony Computer Entertainment. The title has shown itself to be one of the most enticing games of the year so far and is considered by many to be a major game of the year candidate. This comes in stark contrast to last month's The Order: 1886, which – by many standards – was dubbed a flop.
SuperData has recently published information that reinforces these statements. Here is a snippet from their latest report concerning the top earners in digital console sales for 2015:
The Order: 1886 managed to make a modest splash, entering this month’s top ten list at number 8 with $7.1 million in sales. However, following a string of complaints about the game’s short playtime, it is unlikely the game will stick around for very long.
Furthermore, feedback from the Playstation Store continues to widen the gap between The Order and Bloodborne:
The feedback ratings provide an aggregate of players' opinions of each game. There are both more positive and plentiful reviews for Bloodborne. The Order was certainly a small success in its own right, but next to Bloodborne, it has quite a lot to make up for.
