You’ve probably seen dozens of run-of-the-mill Kickstarter campaign pitches for video games ever since Kickstarting became a thing, but I promise that you’ll have never seen anything like the pitch for Strafe ever before.
The team behind Strafe has put together this rad ‘90s looking trailer for an incredibly retro looking first-person shooter that’ll blow your mind—maybe even literally, if what happens in the trailer is anything to go by. SPOILER ALERT.
"In 2014, around 60 million people died on Earth. There is a low but persistent risk the STRAFE® team may also suffer untimely brutal deaths and be unable to deliver the game to backers,” states the team developing Strafe, which describes it as the “Fastest, bloodiest, deadliest, most adjective-abusing, action-packed first-person shooter of 1996.”
Assuming it meets its Kickstarter target, the game is set to offer auto-generating levels, Oculus Rift compatibility, randomized levels, 32-bit colors, and ludicrous amounts of gore.
Check out the trailer below.
Shut up and take my money, Strafe.
