We’re still dealing with several delay announcements. After the pandemic hit, it wasn’t much of a surprise to see several video game projects get pushed back. In addition, there was an extensive transition period for several studios around the world into working from home. While we still have to deal with the pandemic today, we’re getting a better grip on things. It’s uncertain if the pandemic is directly the result of this latest delay announcement, but it looks like we won’t be playing Total War: Warhammer III this year.
Creative Assembly is currently working on the upcoming Total War installment. This video game was first announced in February of this year, and Creative Assembly intended to launch later in 2021. However, the developers over at Creative Assembly have released a tweet from the official Total War Twitter account. Fans are being alerted that the delay will push the game into a launch sometime early next year, 2022. Unfortunately, we don’t have anything specific at the moment as to when players can get their hands on the game outside of an early 2022 launch window.
While this might be frustrating news for some fans, it’s all done to avoid rushing things out into the marketplace. With this delay, the developers will have time to make sure Total War: Warhammer III has a strong launch before they start delivering years of content and support.
With that said, the delay won’t be pushing back any announcements already planned. Tomorrow, there will be the big global reveal for Grand Cathay. That should also likely lead to other new updates to further market and hype up the release. In the meantime, it looks like we’ll have to wait for more details to make their way out regarding the release date of Total War: Warhammer III.
