Metal Gear Solid 5 Framerate and Controller Support Confirmed for PC

November 14, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Locked at 60FPS.

Konami's Los Angeles team has confirmed some new details about the PC versions of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain. Developer Robert Peeler announced on the Steam forums that both PlayStation and Xbox controllers will work with the games.

Peeler wrote. "Unfortunately, DualShock 3 and DualShock 4 controllers, while supported, will not have proprietary input displays in the UI. The controller inputs rather follow the displays common to Xbox controllers."

Presumably that means both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers are supported by Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain.

Peeler also confirmed the framerate for Ground Zeroes on PC, stating "The FPS is locked at 60 for MGSV:GZ." It's currently unknown if The Phanton Pain will follow suit.

You can find out more about controller and keyboard/mouse support for the games here.

Ground Zeroes acts as a prologue for the events of the much larger The Phantom Pain, and was released on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One earlier this year. The PC version of Ground Zeroes will be available through Steam from December 18th.
