Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire: GBA to 3DS Video Comparison

October 31, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Looking to the past in order to peek into the future.

The 3DS Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire remakes are less than a month away, so we ought to step back and see how far Game Freak has come in breathing new life into those dusty old crevices. Back in July, we gazed at a few side-by-side screenshots that compared the GBA originals with the 3DS upgrades. But what's even better than static screens? Video, of course!

YouTube yousheets has pulled the above footage from Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire's official Japanese website and shared it for all. Be amazed as two whole hardware generations pass before your eyes as we leap from the past to the present! Watch also as the game's male protagonist, Brendan, tries on the Oculus Rift at the 17:10 mark! (Yeah, I know it's not really an Oculus Rift.)

Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire arrive on 3DS this November 21, along with a Dual Pack containing both games.
