Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call’s Quest Medley Mode Is a Mini RPG Adventure

September 3, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Put your best team and magic spells to work.

Less than two weeks remain before Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call arrives on 3DS. Square Enix has been making good on its plan to showcase the songs players will be able to enjoy, and now we have the above overview of the new Quest Medley mode.

The original Theatrhythm had a light RPG system in place — clearing stages awarded experience points, allowing you to level up a team of characters and unlock new magic and items. For the most part, these were optional concerns, since they neither hindered nor aided your physical prowess with the game.

Quest Medley mode gives you reason to balance stats and learn new spells. You tackle any of a number of overworld maps, each with several nodes representing stages. Your aim is to defeat the final boss, though you can navigate down different branch paths to get there. Swapping party members and spells is crucial to reaching the end in one piece, since a game over will force you to start to whole campaign from the beginning. At the very least you can bypass levels using airship tickets, which can be acquired during play or purchased using 3DS Play Coins.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call is ready to rock your 3DS on September 16.
