August 11, 2014 by Stephen Daly

ESL is hosting the event with Activision and Sledgehammer during August 13-17.

ESL, the world's largest eSports league, has teamed up with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare developer Sledgehammer and publisher Activision to host the first pro bootcamp for the futuristic shooter.

Both pro players and the community will be able to go hands-on with the game during gamescom from August 13 to 17 and the 12 teams, listed below, hail from eight countries including the U.S., U.K., and Germany. The invited teams are:

  • Team Kaliber
  • Team EnVy
  • Team Curse
  • TCM Gaming
  • Epsilon Esports
  • Killerfish eSport
  • Team Vitality
  • Giants Gaming
  • Next Gaming
  • fab.Esports
  • Orbit.sweden
  • HyperGames

David Hiltscher, Vice President Gaming Communities at ESL, commented, “This Pro Bootcamp gives us a chance to show the potential of the new title to really incorporate the audience’s desires. We’re super excited to see how the Pros handle playing on the new title and what sort of interesting plays they can make. This event is hopefully just the first of many Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare events to come.”

Activision today revealed the game's multiplayer for the first time and announced the Day Zero edition, which gives pre-orderers a 24 hour headstart. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is set for release on November 4th.
