Star Wars Battlefront 3: How They Could Use The Ships

August 6, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

A fan thinks DICE should go RTS on the frigates and capital ships.

Today we look into how to utilize Star Wars’ bigger ships , such as the Capital Ships and Frigates, in Star Wars Battlefront 3.

Our source explains he’s had a long fascination with ships like Star Destroyers, and that it would be cool if players could control them. This would have to be done in such a way that it was incorporated into the story, and gameplay should be the type that makes you use your brain to outwit your foe.

If you may remember, inBattlefront 2, you could control some ships, but only to a limited extent. There were some action sequences where you could take control of one of the turrets and take enemies down. This was a small callback to some of the action in the Star Wars movies themselves, particularly with Luke using the Millenium Falcon turrets in Episode 4.

However, our source wants DICE to go beyond that, and make you the fleet admiral so that you can direct the ships’ attacks yourself. He wants DICE to look at Divinity Dragon Commander for some inspiration on how to blend RTS and action elements. Overall, this would go beyond what we saw in Battlefront 2, and it would be perfect for multiplayer.

How would you like to see the ships utilized in Battlefront 3? Let us know in the comments below.
