The Division Dev Comments On Leaked DLC ‘Bleeding Sun’

July 17, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

Developers of The Division have confirmed that the DLC image is a hoax.

Two images of box cover art purporting to be for DLC of Ubisoft’s upcoming Tom Clancy’s The Division has been outed as being completely fake, according to one of the game’s developers on reddit.

The images depict the words “Tom Clancy’s The Division”, followed by “Bleeding Sun” as the purported title for the DLC. They both carry the release date of December 2015, followed by logos of Ubisoft and Massive and an “M” rating from the ESRB.

The developer, going by the name aemond on Reddit, confirmed that the images were hoaxes. Even without him telling us, we know that they are fake because of the “M” ESRB rating. A more realistic hoax would have an “RP” rating, for “rating pending.”

I don’t know why someone would make fake images of The Division DLC, if not to make the developer look bad for coming up with DLC way ahead of the game’s release.
