Escape Dead Island Announced for PC, Last-Gen Consoles

July 1, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

Escape Dead Island has been announced by Deep Silver.

Deep Silver has announced Escape Dead Island, a new title for the PC and last-gen console platforms including the PS3 and Xbox 360.

It’s described as a “Survival-mystery game with a fresh perspective on the Dead Island universe,” and makes it sound as if the setting is a lot more interesting than it actually is, but I digress.

The game promises to reveal the origins of the virus in a story-driven, single-player campaign played through the eyes of a guy named Cliff Calo, a journalist who wants to expose the truth behind the Banoi outbreak by filming evidence at the quarantined island of Narapela.

Players will be able to explore this new island freely, and sneak around to avoid the undead which can both smell and hear you—if you’re not careful.

The game uses comic-inspired graphics, as seen in the trailer below, and is slated for a 2014 release.
