Aonuma made a post on Miiverse providing just that extra tease regarding Zelda Wii U.
Aonuma made this post on E3 week from Los Angeles, but it’s a little something we missed covering the 1st time. Basically, he made sure to emphasize that that small E3 video for the game was not a cinematic trailer, but actual gameplay footage. He also emphasized that it was also true that you would be able to go to the farthest mountains displayed in that screenshot.
Of course, we’ve already shared an extensive analysis of said screenshot over here, but it’s good to get confirmation that it wasn’t all just put in there for decoration.
On the side, here’s another interesting tidbit about Zelda Wii U that you may have missed. A fan has made a video pointing out the similarities to said trailer and some scenes in the Studio Ghibli film Princess Mononoke. The similarities are so uncanny that it’s hard to believe that this is just a coincidence.
What do you think, guys? Are you looking forward to an open world Zelda with a Studio Ghibli feel? I would argue Link has almost always been a self-sufficient kid in the games anyway. Zelda Wii U will be releasing in 2015.
