Amazon is the first major retailer to offer pre-orders for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. Both of the third generation 3DS remakes are listed for $39.99.
The two games are set for release this November and will be launched worldwide that month rather than as part of a staggered release (sometimes lasting years) as was the norm prior to 2013's Pokemon X and Y.
Mega-evolutions are being introduced and the graphics of the two games are being overhauled to take advantage of the capabilities of the 2DS and 3DS – the games should look like X and Y.
It's no suprise Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are being released only a year after X and Y either, those games have been the best selling titles on 3DS to date with 12.26 million copies sold between them.
Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were announced five years to the day after Nintendo revealed HeartGold and SoulSilver so bookmark your calendars for May 7th, 2019 and we might just see Diamond and Pearl remakes announced on the day (probably not, but it's still an interesting coincidence).
Will you be returning to Hoenn later this year?
