The release date for the videogame version of the world's most popular sport, FIFA 12, is due for September 27 in the United States and September 30 in Europe.
Regarded by billions as "the beautiful sport," the game of football (or soccer, if you prefer) will be making its yearly incarnation in EA's long lived FIFA-sponsored franchise on time, on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. Due to popular demand from fans worldwide, the game will also be making a strong comeback on the PC this year.
"This is the moment all PC gamers have been waiting for," said FIFA 12's executive producer Kaz Makita. "[They] are finally going to fully experience the award-winnning FIFA gameplay on their preferred platform."
Makita also took the opportunity to announce EA's new online matchmaking service for the game.
"PC fans ware going to enjoy the highest quality gameplay, deepest modes and truest graphics ever developed for the platform, including our new live service EA Sports Football Club."
With the game's release on the PC, football fans will no longer be required to own a console to enjoy the game.
