Activision has today released seven minutes of raw gameplay footage of Bungie’s upcoming first person shooter/action RPG Destiny. The trailer follows a group of characters as they undertake a dangerous Strike mission called “The Devil's Lair”, which sees them gunning their way through some ruins inhabited by bad guys.
It’s the first ever proper gameplay video released by both Bungie and Activision. Previous videos consisted of little more than snippets of footage showcasing the characters’ skills and weapons.
Additionally, new details for pre-order incentives have been announced. GameStop Power Up Rewards members who pre-order Destiny at retail stores nation-wide will receive the GameStop Exclusive Upgraded Sparrow. Details of that can be found here.
In case you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know what the game’s about, here’s the official word:
In Destiny, players are cast as Guardians of the last city on Earth, who will traverse the ancient ruins of our solar system, from the red dunes of Mars to the lush jungles of Venus. Able to wield incredible power, gamers must battle humanity's enemies and reclaim all that was lost during the collapse of mankind's Golden Age.
In a story-driven universe, Destiny's saga unfolds through grand tales and epic adventures by immersing players in a bold new universe filled with cooperative, competitive, public, and social activities, all seamlessly connected.
The game is out this September for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4.
