Minecraft is popular, largely because it’s an awesome game and not because it exudes retro charm. That’s just a plus.
But can you imagine what it would look like if it were designed in an engine much more powerful than the one that it’s currently running on, such as CryEngine?
One modder decided to port the game’s textures and models into the much more powerful engine while “upgrading” the game with all the physics offered by CryEngine.
It’s got fully destructible environments, weighted creepers that destroy the environment, and graphics that put to shame any graphical mod you might see on Minecraft itself.
