Sony Computer Japan yesterday announced that PlayStation 4 Update 1.7 was intended to go live on April 30th, however, DualShockers reports that the launch date has since been removed without explanation.
The post originally said:
"At the booth there will be corners for you to experience the new features that allows to broadcast to the popular Nico Nico service from PS4, that will be implemented in the update coming on Wednesday, April 30th."
The page has been changed to read that the update “ will be implemented in a future update.”
Due to the fact that there has been no explanation, if the date was a mistake Sony would have issued a correction, it seems that this may indeed be the update's release date. It's worth nothing that April 30th in Japan could be April 29th in the West due to time zone differences.
Update 1.7 will add the ability to pre-install games and add additional social features.
