Hearthstone, Blizzard’s free-to-play card game that’s been taking the PC by storm, is now available for download on iPad. Well, as long as you live in Canada, New Zealand, or Australia, that is.
This looks to be a staggered rollout, so it shouldn’t take too long before people all across the globe are able to enjoy the developer’s addictive card-battling product on a mobile platform. An official statement on the release has been issued by Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment.
“Hearthstone’s player base has already grown to more than 10 million registered accounts following the official Windows and Mac release, but we saw that a few people online were holding out for the iPad version,” Morhaime said. “Instead of calling those folks up individually, we figured we might as well let everyone know that the global iPad rollout for Hearthstone has begun, and pretty soon it’ll be available everywhere. The game is a natural fit for tablets—we encourage everyone to check it out on their couch, in their backyard, in a coffee shop… or anywhere else they take their iPads.”
Well, “pretty soon” isn’t exactly the most descriptive language, but we’ll hopefully see the game appear on the store before too long.
