Namco Bandai states that its upcoming role-playing game Dark Souls 2 has been pre-ordered 50% more than the first game.
Trade website MCV reports that Namco spent a cool $1 million on marketing the game to help boost sales of the game.
“We have everything going for Dark Souls 2,”said Namco Bandai product manager Gary Chantler. “The PR and community teams have been incredibly hard at work since the game was first revealed. They have been working like mad getting the game through the specialist and mainstream press channels.“
Dark Souls 2 is expected to see landfall on March 11 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in North America, and then on March 14 in Europe. There’s been no word on when the PC version will be released, but it’s expected shortly.
