The story of Kult: Heretic Kingdoms, the 2005 PC RPG from 3D People, isn’t finished. It might not be a sequel that the community has been clamoring for, but bitComposer and Games Farm have just announced Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms – a 2014 hack ‘n’ slash that’s hoping to grab some attention through its unique party system.
As you’d guess, things aren’t exactly bright and peaceful in Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms. A shadow has overcome the dangerous world, but instead of stepping into the shoes of a pure, heroic protagonist, players are asked to take the role of the Devourer. This demon-like creature can travel back and forth between the human and shadow world, sinking his teeth into the souls of his enemies. The game allows the player to quickly switch between the Devourer and up to three party members, who each have their own special abilities.
- The full list of features can be found below.
- Switching between the shadow world and the human world provides depth in story and gameplay.
- Freedom of choice allows players to dictate the course of the game.
- Dynamic day and night cycles.
- Party system that puts players strategic thinking abilities and reaction times to the test.
There’s no hard date for the game, but look to hear more on bitComposer’s new RPG in the coming months.
